BUTTERFLY BABY SHOWER THEME IDEAS AND PHOTOS
87I have completed a butterfly themed baby shower event this past weekend. I wanted to share with you all the details to inspire you when planning your own baby shower.
INVITATIONS WITH DIAPER WISHING WELL:
I picked elegant butterfly invitations to let the guests know of the direction the shower will be going in. We have included in the invitation an additional card for our guests. To really help the mom-to-be, we have decided to use the wishing well as a diaper well! We requested the guests to bring a certain size diaper package. We made every ten invitations have one particular size then the next ten with a different one and so on. This was to ensure each guest did not bring the same size. If you are a little nervous on how to go about adding the cards, do feel free to call the customer service line and speak with a live person who will be happy to assist you! Check out my photos of the invitation and the source is also included. The diaper wishing well was such a big hit and the mom-to-be was thrilled as the couple was stocked up for months!
VENUE SEARCH IN NJ:
The location we had the event was at the Double Tree hotel in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. We loved the hall and the selections they provided to us which I will get into in a bit. While planning, I did tons of research online to really get some unique ideas and combine them with my own ideas. It is important to design your event in your own style and not necessarily copy someones ideas. I really wanted to make the details pop. The butterfly theme was chosen as the mom-to-be had this theme for her baby girl room. What came to mind was the outdoors. I really wanted the accents to stand out.
DECORATIONS PLUS SIGNATURE DRINK:
Please check out my pictures and see the whole theme come to life. I will get into each in detail for you. The first idea I created a yard sign out of white canvas board, added a wood stick for the sign effect, stuffed Styrofoam in the pot and added moss over it. The canvas has the parents and baby's first initials of their names. The monogram look was created by using rhinestone stickers, then added butterflies around the edging. All the materials were found at Michael's craft store! As another special touch, I added gems to the butterflies to make them sparkle. We had the sign placed on the cake table and a second sign that was created placed by the fountain table. Our beverage of choice was unique and different. It was Malibu Bay Breezes- YUM! We thought we must choose a pink drink to go with the strawberry pink and baby pink colors we chosen for balloons as well as additional decor. The second sign created for the drink fountain had a cute quote that was a cheers to the mom-to-be. In addition to the beverage of choice, we also had soft drinks served. Additional decor included ten bunches of twelve balloons in different areas of the room. If your familiar with the area, I ordered balloons at Partyland. They deliver them to the venue. You should always give yourself less work as possible day of the event.
GIFT TABLE:
For the gift table, I added balloons and created another display using branches that were also found at Michaels craft store. I bought two branches that were nice in width and length. I found adorable letters online. I printed them individually and cut to perfect size. The letters spelled out the baby girl's name. Each letter was hole punched and had pretty polka dot ribbon tied to the branches to hang down. I then added white butterflies with pink gems. It was a nice touch for the outdoor butterfly theme!
CENTERPIECES PLUS THANK YOU FAVOR:
For the reception table display, we used bright pink instead of baby pink napkins that the venue provided for us. The venue also provided beautiful centerpieces. All we added was a moss mat underneath the centerpiece and butterflies. The materials were again found at Michael's craft store. As an additional touch to the tables, we gave out thank you favors from our shop. They were lip balms that all the girls found useful. It is winter approaching and we do want to seal our lips to avoid chap lips!. The link is as follows if you are interested in favors: http://bellamevents.theaspenshops.com/product/sweet-kisses-personalized-lip-balm.html. We bought additional satin bags and created custom labels off the computer in aditional to the custom label from the favor. Check out the photos of each. Additionally, we added pretty butterflies to a few of the chairs as if the butterflies landed there. It looked adorable! If the item goes out of stock there are other butterfly favors on the site so no worries.
DIAPER WISHING WELL:
For the diaper wishing well, we used a play pin borrowed from a family member and wrapped it in white bed sheets to make a big diaper effect. I found an adorable over-sized pin from an adult costume in the party store. The sign created said." Diapers and Pins, now the FUN begins!". It was super cute. On both sides of the wishing well, we added bunches of balloons.
FOOD:
There were doors that went into a separate room for the food. It was buffet style. I added glittery butterflies with pink ribbon next to each food sign and bunches of balloons in a few areas. The food was very delicious! Chicken, steak, fish, veggies, salads, bread rolls, potatoes were amongst the selection. We had guests mingle around prior to the food being served. Once food was complete, we got into opening gifts.
ENTERTAINMENT:
I had created butterfly bingo cards for the guests to fill out and gave them 24 chances to win a prize. The prizes were small useful girl items that were created from a store called Harmon's, that has beauty products at reasonable prices. Some gifts were mirror compacts with lip glosses, nail polish and nail filer, makeup brush with makeup remover pads, and so on. It lasted for awhile which was nice. Friends helped keep opening gifts organized and helped create a mom-to-be hat. If you like the Bingo card design for your own shower planning here is where you can print as many as you like for only $10! http://www.etsy.com/listing/79170275/printable-baby-shower-bingo-game.
DESSERT:
After the gift opening, coffee, cake and cookies were served. The mom-to-be went around the tables and took pictures. The dad-to-be showed up with a surprise "push" gift along with beautiful flowers which everyone thought was so nice. A sheet cake made with cannoli cake filling from La Rosa's bakery in Red Bank, NJ. We did have to pick up the cake but it was the best in town and the price was perfect so no complaints there.
ONE EXCITED FAMILY TO BE:
The parents-to-be were so overwhelmed with all the gifts, alot of close friends and family members helped them pack gifts to their cars. It was a perfect day to a beautiful new beginning. Everyone had a great time and are so happy for the parents-to-be!
I hope you like how everything came out. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in a event designer for your baby shower at BellaMEvents@gmail.com. We appreciate if you can leave feedback and let us know how we may have impacted your planning! Thank You.
