CARE BEARS 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY THEME

The Care Bears are adorable fun, loveable animated bears created by the greeting card company, American Greetings back in the 80s that later went into their own television series also during the 80s and even expanded to three films. They were VERY popular so if you are a 80s baby, you know exactly who they are! Each bear consisted of different colors and has specialized insignia on the belly that signified their duty and personality!! They have one special mission which is to teach, caring and sharing to others and show them how to express their feelings. Check out my photos of the bears to further emphasize what I mean.

After being such a hit back in 2002 they were reintroduced as toys. There were some changes to the bears for toy purposes mostly involving lightening the colors of the bears and minor redesigns to the tummy symbols. They also expanded to computer animated movies to 2005. During 2007 they were brought back to surface for their 25^th anniversary for their toy line. Now if you ask me I believe 25 years of a toy line still being around is a big deal. Congrats to them! Believe it or not they are still being marketed till today. Although changes have been made to the bears since its original launch, they still have the same story of who they are. I don’t feel they will ever be replaced and I sure hope they are not. They definitely are not a “one hit wonder”. I am much older now and would still love to watch a show to bring some kid memories back!

For some present news on the Care Bears icon and copyrights, know that American Greetings still owns them however I hear a new company is trying to take them over and they have until April of 2009 to make a decision. Hopefully nothing will change with the story of the Care Bears once a new company takes over. I have listed a few of the names you may want to research if you want to base your party on a particular bear or have all of them incorporated at your party.

See so these Bears are not going anywhere.Now that I provided some history for you, I want to get into the party planning for your 1 year old birthday celebration. Whether you decide to have a gathering at your home, a reception site or a private room at a restaurant, you can sure bring in all the fun small details to make your theme stand out in the room. For the table centerpieces I would use a cute inexpensive care bear party supply as in photo to add to the tables. You can have that placed in front of pastel colored flowers. It will look very nice and elegant. Also in addition to the room decor you can add pearl pastel colored balloons to the table where you will have the cake. I think that will be sufficient. If you like you can have some Care Bear themed items like napkins during the dessert time as I hope you would include a Care Bear themed cake!. I would keep it elegant and not over done. Incorporating the pastel colors will really make the theme also go together then just the characters. Invitations can be found online or in any party store.
