Maid of honor speech from younger sister to older sister

Congratulations on becoming a "Maid of Honor"! Now what? you may ask. This hub will give you a run down of what your role is and even a free toast speech to help guide you on your own speech! This was my speech that I said to my older sister and do not mind sharing it. I was so nervous and spent countless days/hours on figuring out what to write. I am also not one to talk in front of a large crowd but I wrote my speech down and practiced it. Day of I was so nervous, I just brought the paper up there and was shaking to death but got a standing ovation! Please twist some of the words around to make it more meaningful towards your own scenario. Also please leave some feedback in the comment field below, I would love to know if it has helped you.

Who is asked to be a maid of honor?

Typically the person that a bride will ask to be their maid of honor is a close sibling (if she has one), a very close cousin, or a very close friend she grew up with. It is an honor to be asked and you should feel very special as well as know it is a big responsibility.

Do know when you are asked, you do have the right to decide if you would like to take on this role. You will be involved in planning many of the events approaching the wedding as well as attend to the bride every step of the way. The maid of honor will need time to cater to the bride's needs as well as save for the role as it can be an extra expense from the bridesmaid role.
