BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISING IDEAS
70Cancer is not a single disease but rather a group of diseases characterized by their ability to cause cells to change in abnormal ways and grow out of control. Most types of cancer form a tumor, a lump or mass of cancerous cells. Most people visualize a malignant tumor as steadily growing, and they may assume that if a lump is small, it's an early cancer. This may not be true. Tumor size alone doesn't indicate a cancer's severity.
The risk for most forms of cancer rises with age, and breast cancer is no exception. At age 20, your risk is very low, but by age 50, one in every 36 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer within the next 10 years. The risk continues to rise throughout life!
Let's try to find the cure to lower the risk! We need your help by donating so we can have enough money to keep testing out new ways to find the cure!
Did you ever want to get involved in charities but didn't know how to go about it? Well aside from trying to be apart of other teams that get together for fundraisers, why don't you take the initiative to have a fundraiser of your own and then present a nice check to the many Breast Cancer Foundations out there. It will make you feel like you made a mark in the world and you definitely have!
I also want to let you in on the good news. We have a In Favor of a Cure™ Pink Ribbon hand out item to thank your participates at your fundraiser. The item is to inspire hope for the future and, at the same time, to honor the survivors—and the memory—of those who have been touched by breast cancer. Kate Aspen dedicates 10% of the net proceeds from our shoppe when you purchase the item to benefit the Young Survival Coalition, a nonprofit organization devoted to improving the lives of young women living with breast cancer. Check out the item in my photos below. Now this is truly wonderful! Aside from raising money with your guests, the hand outs you provide to your guests will also be a donation! You may be supporting Susan G. Komen with your fundraiser but at the same time your purchase has a percentage to go to another. This would be great to also announce.
I hope one day we do not have to worry about this. Let's get the word out to everyone we know to express how every little bit helps. Whether its five cents or five dollars! I know everyone can beat this. I have witnessed a loved one go through Breast Cancer and survive. I have seen what chemo does and the many doctor visits that take a toll on a person. I think its not up until you witness it on your own that makes you want to make a difference but I know there are many warm hearted people out there that are just craving to help those in need. So please take my suggestion on throwing your own fundraiser seriously. Get everyone involved in a Breast Cancer walk as well as a charity night at home, restaurant, or hall. During the night you can have performers, raffle tickets for small prizes and a bingo game- whichever fits in your budget. Just think what you can expand from one cause to another and another! Life is too short not to make a DIFFERENCE!
