TOP 5 WAYS TO HONOR A LOVED ONE AT YOUR WEDDING
79During wedding planning there is one area that becomes most touching to both Bride and Groom. That would be,how to dedicate a piece of your special day to a loved one that has passed away.
I hope to help you with a few ideas that I feel are the top 5 ways to honor a loved one.
1. Photo Video Tribute
A video tribute of photos is a nice way to honor loved ones who have passed. You can include them in a separate section of the video if you decide to do a montage of family, friends and the growth of your relationship from dating to engagement.
2. Memory Table
A memory table in honor of your loved ones is a nice way to showcase photos of them with sweet quotes and tea-lights that can be found on our shop at www.BellaMevents.theaspenshops.com. We have a few presented in our photos. It is also nice to add cards stating who is in the photos so guests become more knowledgeable on who they are viewing. On the table, add favorite items of the deceased one or items that the Bride and Groom have in memory to them such as favorite hobby items like a football, handmade quilt, etc. Just ensure it is in a nice area of the room where people can view but not touch. You do not want items to go missing.
3. Personal Tributes
A personal tribute for a Bride or Groom to do is wearing a piece of jewelry, a piece of clothing, a handkerchief, or add a photo of the loved one who has passed to a item. For a Bride, the bouquet is a popular area where cloths, and jewelry are tyed in together. For a groom, a Handkerchief, cuff links and/or photo in wallet is a nice personal tribute to your loved one.
4. Donation "In Lieu of Favors"
A donation to a charity in lieu of favors is a great way to pay tribute to a loved one who has passed. You can display one message at each reception table in a nice picture frame regarding the donation or you can make small cards and place them in an envelope for each guests. They can be left at each place setting. Please see photo of a Breast Cancer donation card completed at a wedding I have completed.
5. Tribute Dance to a loved one
A nice way to pay tribute during your wedding to someone who has passed away is to dedicate a slow dance in their honor. The Bride and Groom would have the DJ or MC announce a special message to their guest. It can be something short and sweet like, "Mary and John join together in a dance to honor John's grandmother who is here with us in spirit". This dance can be done at any time during the reception.

I'm from Brazil, and the tradition here is that the bride makes her triumphal entry into the church with her ??father. I lost my father when he was 11. Many brides like me who have lost their father enter the church with a brother, uncle, father in law, etc ... To honor my father I chose to enter the church alone, to show that he is irreplaceable. It was touching, everyone noticed the absence of someone very important.
